(Just Like) Starting Over

I hate being "one of those people" who read into music, but a couple of weeks ago, I stumbled across a discussion about Starting Over and what/who John was singing about. Now, most people in the thread thought it was about Paul. It's mostly these lyrics:
Everyday we used to make it love
Why can't we be making love nice and easy
It's time to spread our wings and fly
Don't let another day go by my love
It'll be just like starting over, starting over

Why don't we take off alone
Take a trip somewhere far, far away
We'll be together all alone again
Like we used to in the early days
Well, well, well darling

The "Wings" could very well be, well, "Wings" as in Paul McCartney & Wings.
The "don't let another day go by my love" could be reference to Paul's song. If it is, it wouldn't be the first time John mentioned that song (also in How Do You Sleep?)

Basically the entire 2nd verse could be the Paris-trip in '61. "Take a trip somewhere far, far away" - They originally planned on going to Spain, but ended up staying in Paris, just John and Paul.
I've seen a couple of discussions on the word "darling" in Beatle and solo songs (mostly from Paul or John), but I'm still sceptical about that one.

Now if you don't mind, I'm going to take my tinfoil hat off and scold myself for reading into this,
